    Watch independent films NOW!

The new IndieFlix streaming video service is now available at the Pierson Library. The service gives library card holders access to thousands of independent films, shorts, and documentaries on computers, Apple and Android tablets and most mobile devices, the Roku streaming device, and later this year, PS3 and Xbox game consoles. The service is only available to Shelburne residents with a valid library card.

IndieFlix offers library users unlimited access to films screened at more than 2,000 film festivals worldwide.

“IndieFlix allows library users in Shelburne to see films they normally would not have access to,” said Library Director, Kip Roberson. “That is what IndieFlix is all about, connecting filmmakers and films to viewers.”

IndieFlix is easy to use! To get started, simply click here. Then create an IndieFlix account using your library barcode number. Once you’ve created your account and validated your email, you’re ready to login to IndieFlix and can start watching award-winning documentaries, short films, web series, animated, children’s, Sci-fi, political and sports films anywhere anytime for free.

    Celebrate Oktoberfest By Learning German!

This year marks the 201st Oktoberfest, the annual beer festival centered in Munich, Germany, but celebrated all over the world. The festivities begin with a 12 gun salute and the tapping of the first keg of Oktoberfest beer at 12:00 by the incumbent Mayor of Munich with the cry “O’ zapft is!” (“It’s tapped!”).  The Mayor then gives the first beer to the Minister-President of the State of Bavaria.

Did you know that you can learn German or any of 16 other languages by using Mango Languages? Access Mango and all our databases on our new “Resources” page!
