Indieflix Independent Movie Night: New York Pizza Confessions

Tuesday 10/28 at 6:45 p.m.: Indieflix Independent Movie Night: New York Pizza Confessions – Join us as we live-stream this 2011 film exploring what New Yorkers’ taste in pizza reveals about them and their city. Imbued with energy and humor direct from the city streets, The NY Pizza Confessions take us on a number of journeys through different walks of life in the Big Apple, revealing them one slice at a time. Black, white, gay, Jewish, rich, underemployed‚ all through the lens of pizza. A short discussion will follow. Indieflix is a streaming movie service that provides unlimited access to award-winning shorts, feature films, television shows, and documentaries from around the world. Tuesday 7/29 at 6:45 p.m.: “The Slanted Screen” – Indieflix Independent Movie Night – Join us as we live-stream this award-winning documentary examining Hollywood’s portrayals of Asian men in film and television. The 60-minute film includes interviews with actors, directors, and producers including Jason Scott Lee, Bobby Lee, and Justin Lin. A brief discussion will follow the screening. “The Listening Project” – Indieflix Independent Movie Night

Tuesday 6/24 at 6:00 p.m.: “The Listening Project” – Indieflix Independent Movie Night – Join us as we live-stream the 2008 documentary “The Listening Project” which follows four Americans as they travel the world in order to listen to people and hear what they think of the United States. Countries visited include China, Tanzania, South Africa, Afghanistan, Russia, Palestine, and more. Tech Tutoring @ The Pierson Library

Monday 4/14 through Friday 4/18 during Library hours: Tech Tutoring @ The Pierson Library – Ever wish you had someone who would sit down with you and answer questions about your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone – from the basic “how do I use the mouse or read my email” questions to the more advanced “how do I download audiobooks or ebooks?” The Pierson Library staff offer one-on-one, personalized technology training for seniors to help you with your technology questions.  Please register for a specific time slots by calling the library at 985-3124 or signing up when you next drop by.

Sign up for a ½-hour appointment with Katie Martin-Woodard or Lara Keenan, and we will help you set up your device so you can use your library card to enjoy the many, free e-books and audiobooks available through the Pierson Library!
